CLASSES

Tumbling

Tumbling was originally performed on simple mats and now has a number of different surfaces including tumbling mats, ski floors, spring floors and today’s fiber-glass rod floors, invented by Randy Mulkey.  U.S. National Championships date all the was back to 1886 and are still performed to this day in the Gymnastics section of the Olympics. Learning how to flip in the air is a constant growing trend!

Student will learn the necessary movements to perform the skills they are working on. These classes involve:

  • Warm-up and stretching
  • A variety of exercises and drills needed to practice and perform skills
  • Strength and Conditioning to build up and maintain the strength needed to perform these skills
  • Nutrition information needed to maintain physical and mental health as well as energy levels.

Stunting

Cheerleading wouldn’t be the same without all the exciting and entertaining stunts that are performed. As the sport progresses, the stunts are getting more and more complex and showy. A four-group stunt is not all you will expect to see anymore at these competitions; expect solid single-basing, astounding pyramids, and eye-catching tosses.

Students will learn the importance of working as a team to perform their stunts safely and effectively.  These classes involve:

    • Warm-up and stretching
    • A variety different stunts and ways to perform them based on skill level
    • Strength and Conditioning to build up and maintain the strength needed to perform these skills
    • Nutrition information needed to maintain physical and mental health as well as energy levels.

Strength and Conditioning

When properly performed, strength and conditioning training can provide significant functional benefits and improvement in overall health and well-being. This includes increased bone, muscle, tendon and ligament strength and toughness, improved joint function, reduced potential for injury, increased bone density, increased metabolism, improved cardiac function, and elevated HDL (“good”) cholesterol. Activities are customized for each individual’s personal fitness goals using cardio, weights, and your own body.
